The Musical Union of Vall de Ebo was born as a project, in 1998, from a small group of music fans who had started learning dulzaina just a year ago and who came to participate in the Pasacalle de Ondara (Alicante) that same year.
With regard to the functional organization of the band and music school, Francisco Estévez Senté, director of the Tenor Cortis Conservatory of Music in Denia and the Orchestra of the Marina Alta (OMA), the good disposition of the City Council Vall de Ebo, presided over by Juan Fraude Mengual, who contributed an important economic amount attached to the purchase of instruments and provided the necessary premises for the training of the new students and the collaboration of all the neighbors – the Vall de Ebo is a village of About 330 inhabitants -, the School of Music began its classes in January of 1999 under the direction of Mª Dolores Masía Picornell.
The first hearing of the students of the School of Music and Band to his town was realized, in the Church of San Miguel, the Christmas of the same year. The official presentation of the Band of Music, in the street and with 46 musicians, was the 30 of July of 2000 with the sponsorship of the Bands of Plans, Castell de Castells, Ondara, the Verger and Vall de Laguar.
The first management board, until being registered as a Musical Society, was constituted by Emilio Aragón Mengual, José Antonio Carnero Peon (morris), José Sirerol Ramírez, Joaquim Montaner Muelle, Bruno Sorita Mata, Juan Fraude Mengual, Pablo Masanet Mengual, Emilio Aragón Ramos and Jordi Aragón Ramos.
The Musical Union of the Vall de Ebo includes, apart from the school and Band of Music, a small group of dulzaina and another one of camera; In addition in addition four of its members comprise of the Young Orchestra of Marina Alta (JOMA).
The social hall is located in the local Aula de Cultura, and the School of Music in an attached flat where 48 students receive instruction, most of whom have participated in the performances of the Band. She has participated in the last three editions of the “Música a los Pueblos” campaign, in the concert of the Esplanade of Alicante – within the program “Sigue a ti Banda” – in July 2003 and in the popular fiestas of the Vall de Ebo and other towns of the region of Marina Alta.
